IJORTISS mission statement
The online reviewed (refereed) publication of International Journal of Research Trends in Social Sciences (IJORTISS) has been initiated by the founders of the International Network of Young Researchers in Social Sciences (INYRSS) in 2005 as an outcome of the 5th IGYS (International Group of Young Scientists, based at Kaunas Faculty of Humanities, Vilnius University, Lithuania) International Scientific Conference for Senior and Junior Researchers "Postmodern Society and Consumption Patterns from the Perspective of Social Sciences", organised on 15-16th April, 2005 in Kaunas, Lithuania.
IJORTISS was founded to stimulate the scientific writing initiative among young researchers, master and PhD students, as well as their scientific tutors and senior researchers within a broad context of current scientific achievements and emerging scientific transformations in social sciences with application to CEEC, rest of Europe and worldwide perspective.
IJORTISS is designed to serve to educator and practitioner audiences. Thus, it targets college and university educators, scientific and public libraries, students and practitioners who are interested in economics and finance, management and business, political sciences and public administration in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, rest of Europe and some implications to a world-wide perspective. It brings to the readership a selection of original articles. The journal is a biannual publication (summer and winter editions) in the English language.
Topics may specifically relate to the individual countries, or comparisons with other countries may be drawn. IJORTISS is open to theoretical and empirical contributions as well as any methodological approaches within the stated areas. The emphasis of IJORTISS in laid on the originality of the contributions and achievements in social sciences research.

All contributions are subject to a double blind review. IJORTISS strives to publish high quality contributions in the spectrum of full-length articles (15-20 pages), research notes (7-12 pages). IJORTISS has a policy of quoting a JEL classification where applicable.
