IJORTISS Editorial
As Editor-in-Chief of the Editorial Board of International Journal of Research Trends in Social Sciences (IJORTISS), I am deeply encouraged by the launching of this new reviewed full-text scientific e-journal. The challenging endeavor of launching a new scholarly publication has been supported by an innovative partnership (the INYRSS - International Network of Young Researchers of Social Sciences, established on 16th April, 2005, and a generous support form the supporter and initiator of this idea - Kaunas Faculty of Humanities, Vilnius University, Lithuania), who have put together a stellar international board of editors to guide the journal as it develops a community of contributors and readers. The professionals, academics, and policymakers who have joined this effort are not only experts in their respective fields but are also committed to promoting productive debate on issues related to social sciences - management and economics in particular.
The goal of IJORTISS - to stimulate the scientific writing initiative among young researchers, graduates, PhD students and their scientific tutors, as well as young PhDs and senior researchers within a broad context of current scientific achievements and emerging scientific transformations in social sciences with application to Central and eastern European countries (CEEC), rest of Europe and worldwide perspective.
Starting an e-journal like IJORTISS is a critical undertaking. Disciplines feeding into the field of social sciences, as well as professionals already examining its practices, come from highly diverse arenas. The beliefs and priorities from different, inter-disciplinary sectors, countries, and cultures are equally divergent.
IJORTISS will also address the need for a coherent, identifiable, and central forum for the diverse community of people working on research trends and solutions of globalization of businesses, cross-cultural perspective of consumer behaviour, transformations in CEEC economies and governance patterns, to mention just a few. Because studies of social sciences are, by nature, cross-disciplinary, stakeholders are forced to read and interpret language, models, and references that are outside their home domains.
The editors and reviewers of IJORTISS are committed to helping authors articulate their perspectives and the tools they create in ways that will resonate with the broadest possible readership. The journal will be a stable and consistent setting where stakeholders can safely formulate a new, rich language of cross-cultural perspectives, one that exemplifies a broad range of disciplinary cultures. In so doing, the journal expects to become a truly valuable asset for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and others directly involved in studying business and economics problems and creating lasting solutions.
Today, by mining the potential of the Internet, by creating new information technologies, and by supporting publications like IJORTISS, we are broadening our role not only as an information provider, but also as a facilitator of information sharing and cross-disciplinary problem solving.
IJORTISS will play a central role in defining these components of community structure by presenting clearly written, robustly linked, and well-argued cross-disciplinary papers in social sciences in an open access forum
